Ryder Steps Up At Softball Titles

19 June, 2026

Ryder Mason took another step towards his dream of playing softball for Australia by performing strongly in the recent national under-18 school softball championships.

Ryder, who only turned 15 in April, was one of the youngest players to represent Victoria in the tournament in Blacktown, western Sydney.

The Vics claimed bronze after winning four of their seven games – and Ryder was a solid contributor.

The Year 10 student had numerous at-bats, snared four catches in the outfield, and was part of an infield walk-off grand slam.

Ryder also scored Victoria’s first run against New South Wales with a slide into home base.

He represents the Werribee Hawks in the local men’s softball competition, and also plays under-17 baseball for the Werribee Giants.
