State Schools Relief

State Schools’ Relief provides support to any Victorian student attending a government school (primary, secondary or specialist), on the advice of the school.

Schools are able to submit an application directly, via our online portal, whenever they believe there is a need to support a student whose family/carers are facing difficulty in providing the appropriate uniform, footwear or educational items for attending school.

Circumstances include, but are not limited to:

    • Unemployment
    • Health issues/illness
    • Financial difficulties
    • Independent living and/or homelessness
    • Natural disasters, house fires
    • Bereavement
    • Domestic violence

Camps, Sports & Excursion Fund (CSEF)

The department administers the Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund (CSEF) to help eligible families with the costs of camps, sporting activities and excursions/incursions.

The Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund (CSEF) provides payments for eligible students to attend activities like:

    • school camps or trips
    • swimming extension activities and other school-organised sport programs
    • outdoor education programs
    • excursions and incursions
    • graduations/valedictories

Families can list more than one student in the one application form if they are attending the same school.

Who can apply

Those that are eligible to apply for the CSEF are:

    • families holding a valid means-tested concession card
    • a student over 16 years who is considered a mature minor and holds a valid concession card (such as a Youth Allowance Health Care Card or Disability Support Pension Card)
    • a special consideration category also exists for refugee and asylum seeker families and students placed in out of home care.

Smith Family

The Smith Family Learning for Life Scholarship helps create brighter futures for Manor Lakes P–12 College students by providing:

    • financial assistance to help families with education-related costs
    • access to educational programs that support learning and wellbeing throughout a child’s school journey

Who can apply

The eligibility criteria to apply for the Smith Family Learning for Life Scholarship is as follows:

    • families must hold a valid Health Care Card or Pension Concession Card
    • students must maintain regular school attendance (80% or above)
