Whether aiming for elite performance or diving into the science behind sport, our Sports Academy programs offer equal opportunities to train, grow, and pursue future careers in the sporting and health industries.

Elite Sports Academy

The Elite Sport Academy supports students who are passionate about high-level sport and want to build the skills needed for success both on the field and in future careers. The Elite Sport Academy offers the same number of practical sessions as the Sport Science Academy to ensure equal opportunities for skill development and training. Students learn about the fitness industry, sports nutrition, coaching, community sport initiatives, and pathways into professional sport. They also explore areas such as goal setting and nutrition to better understand what helps athletes reach their best. Units like Sport Ethics & Respectful Relationships, Sport Journalism & Broadcasting, Community Outreach help students develop strong values, communication skills, and positive routines. This program can lead to careers such as Professional Athlete, Professional Sports Coach, Strength and Conditioning Coach, Personal trainer, Sports centre manager, Educator/teacher, Sports Management and Dietitian/Nutritionist.

Sports Science Academy

The Sport Science Academy provides students with a comprehensive foundation in the key disciplines that drive athletic performance and innovation in sport. Students develop a clear understanding of how the body moves, how performance is measured, and how mindset and data influence success. The academy offers the same number of practical sessions as the Elite Sport Academy, to ensure equal opportunities for skill development and training. Units such as Sport Analysis, Athlete Anatomy and Physiology, STEM Sport, and The Physics of Sport equip students with both theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience. This pathway opens doors to a wide range of careers, such as sports medicine, education, sports psychology, sports and exercise science, performance analysis, sport statistics, and dietetics/nutrition, preparing students for further study or roles in the sport and health industries.
