Last week our Grade 6 basketball team competed at the division finals at Altona Sports Stadium. After a tight opening game against The Grange, where we went down by just three points, the team bounced back in style, winning every game from then on and finishing with the highest percentage of any team in the competition.
Unfortunately, that first narrow loss meant we finished second overall.
Although the result was disappointing, the way our students played made us incredibly proud. The team showed real determination from the first buzzer to the last and truly demonstrated our school value of Aiming High by giving their best effort in every game.
Rather than letting the early loss get them down, they showed a fantastic growth mindset, learning from that game and lifting their performance as the day went on.
We have some very talented basketballers in Grade 6. Congratulations to the whole team on an outstanding effort.
