MEET OUR LOCAL YOUTH PARLIAMENTARIAN

6 May, 2026

Year 12 student Bodhi Collins has been announced as the Youth Member for our local federal seat of Lalor.

More than 2200 young people from across Australia applied to be part of the inaugural 2026 National Youth Parliament, and Bodhi was one of the successful 150 students – one from each federal electorate. He was selected because his “ideas, insight and commitment to contributing to Australia’s future stood out”.

One of our college co-captains, Bodhi will join his fellow youth parliamentarians for a week at Parliament House in Canberra where they will take part in “hands-on experiences, including simulated parliamentary debates, workshops with political leaders and real-world policy discussions”.

They will also “gain a deeper understanding of how parliament works and how laws are developed and passed”.

Last year Bodhi and a few other Manor Lakes College students attended Victorian Youth Parliament (above).
