The Year 6 girls’ soccer team has progressed to regional level after winning the division championships.
Two members of the team, Ayrris and Baheera, provided the following report about their big day:
On the July 16, the Manor Lakes Year 6 girls’ soccer team went to division soccer. The excitement among the girls was palpable – we were all eagerly awaiting the matches to start.
We versed 5 different schools, and we won 4 of our 5 matches.
It was a competitive day, yet we had an enjoyable time.
Even though some teams played rough, we still managed to play our best and communicate with one another. Throughout the day we showed strong sportsmanship skills and our school values.
We are very glad to get this opportunity, and it helped us learn and grow as a team.
We can’t wait for regionals!
State Cross-Country Championships
On the same day (July 16), two of our students competed in the state cross-country championships at Yarra Valley Racing Club in Yarra Glen.
Year 10 student Guyo Kullo (50th) and Year 5 runner Dau Garang (55th) should be extremely proud of their efforts.
