Christian Tsoukias is on a roll.
The Year 9 student recently represented Victoria for the first time in the national junior tenpin bowling championships on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland.
On six occasions Christian scored more than 200, amassing a top score of 224.
‘Victoria 1’ won the tournament, while Christian’s team, ‘Victoria 2’, finished last among the five teams but improved considerably over the three-day event.
Last Sunday (May 31), Christian also finished third in an under-21 masters event, with a high score of 257 and a career-best tournament average of 197.7.
“I honestly have no clue where bowling is going to take me, but one day I hope to represent Australia,” Christian said.
Now 14, he started bowling when he was just six after being given a flyer at his old school in Point Cook.
In more recent times, Christian’s talent was recognised when he was invited to train with an elite group of young bowlers. He soon learned a new technique where he spins the ball to make it easier to strike.
