Parents & Friends Association
Manor Lakes P-12 College has a Parents & Friends Association. PFA are involved in a number of activities across the College such as school banking, raffles, stalls, BBQs & other community events. Parents & Friends is also an opportunity for parents/care-givers to get together to discuss various community/college issues.
Student voice is an important aspect of school life. Each year level (Years 3-11) will be represented by a female/male student. Student Representatives are voted for by their peers & this process is decided by each year level. The role of a Student Representative is diverse & varied. It may include such activities as fundraising & other leadership type roles. Student Representatives meet on a fortnightly basis.
The students in years Prep-6 are involved in the following program for valuing the community: Environmental Stars. The Environmental Stars program involves students/teachers being responsible for tidying areas outside their classrooms. Rooms selected as most tidy by the colleges SRC Representatives are holders of the Environmental Stars Trophy for that week.
Rubbish Free Lunch
Rubbish Free Lunches are lunch boxes that don’t contain any packaged or wrapped food items. No packaging in lunch boxes means no rubbish in the yard! Please encourage this with the students.
Friday is School Banking Day and students should bring in their weekly deposit.
We recommend families who recently opened new accounts start bringing their banking into school BEFORE the school holidays so that the school receives the $5 commission per account we claim.
This goes a long way towards our fundraising efforts.
For every deposit made at school, no matter how big or small, students will receive a cool “Dollarmites” token. Once students have individually collected 10 tokens they can redeem them for an exclusive School Banking reward item in recognition of their continued savings behaviour.
Thank you for supporting the School Banking program at Manor Lakes P-12 College.
