I am still waiting for any additional information from the Department of Education, so if/when information arrives there is the possibility that arrangements announced may change.

Could you please pass this information on to the parents and carers at your school so that they can plan their route to and from school accordingly.
While we appreciate that school times may have changed we are unable to staff school crossings outside of the school zone times. This is to ensure the safety of both the pedestrians and School Crossing Supervisors as drivers do not expect to see flags outside of these times and often do not change their driving behaviour.
Thank you for your understanding during this time and we will continue to do our best to ensure the safety of both pedestrians and our School Crossing Supervisors.
Please take care.

Supervision arrangements for students whose parents are unable to work from home and no other childcare arrangements are available.

During the extended school holiday next week, the school is required to provide supervision for students whose parents are unable to work from home and have no other care alternatives. If you are in this category please provide the following information to the relevant sector principal to determine if you are eligible for the school to provide supervision.

  1. Student Name and year level
  2. Circumstances that require student to be supervised at school, eg both parents work and no older sibling or relation at home or nearby to supervise. (If this is the case; job title, work hours, start and finish times and a contact number to confirm details at the work place will be required).

Secondary: Renee Liprino, renee.liprino@education.vic.gov.au

Big Childcare will be continuing their holiday care program and will run their activities for students who are eligible to attend school for supervision and this includes up to year 7 and year 8 students from secondary level.
If you are not eligible for child to be supervised at school, Big childcare can still provide their holiday program for families at $65 per day less child care subsidy. Details are below.
Please note: No child should be attending school if they are unwell. If a student becomes unwell during the day, parents need to ensure they are able to collect a child promptly or have arrangements in place to do so.

Message from Big Childcare
Dear Parents and Guardians

It’s hard to believe we will be entering another period of lock down for Melbourne. These are tough times however Big Childcare continues to prioritise the health and well-being of our families and staff.

We would like to reassure you that Big Childcare are continuing to protect your children through stringent hygiene and physical distancing practices across all our services. We also want to protect the enrolments and bookings of all of our families and ensure that no family requiring care misses out.

Further to the government announcements made on Tuesday, Big Childcare will be providing an extra week of care to assist families with the new mandates.

If you do not hold a permanent booking and require care during the week beginning 13 July or need to make any changes, please contact your dedicated centre manager immediately. The cost of a curriculum day for Big Childcare before any Child Care Subsidy (CCS) is $65.

For families that are essential workers and can not work from home, Manor Lakes P-12 School has kindly stated that they will cover the gap fees for these families; provided they are able to submit documentation from their employer stating that they cannot work from home.
This documentation will need to be submitted to your sector principal confirming your eligibility. Big Childcare will then liaise with the school regarding this confirmation.

Please note only students enrolled at Manor Lakes P-12 will be eligible to attend.

We would like to assure families that we will be operating throughout Lockdown 2.0 J, and your dedicated centre manager is only a phone call or email away!

Be well and stay safe.
Big Childcare
